Community Guidelines

1. Scope

1.1 These Community Guidelines apply to all social and sharing features provided through Nomming, including private groups, meal sharing, invitations, challenges, profile photographs, likes, reactions, names and other user-generated content.

1.2 These Guidelines form part of the Nomming Terms of Service.

1.3 They apply even where Content is shared only within a private group.

2. Community Principle

2.1 Nomming is intended to support respectful meal logging and positive social interaction.

2.2 Users must not use the Service to shame, intimidate, pressure or endanger others.

2.3 Group participation and challenges must remain voluntary.

3. Respectful Conduct

3.1 Treat other users with respect.

3.2 Do not:

1. insult or degrade a person because of their appearance, body, weight, diet, culture, religion, disability, sex, gender, sexuality, race or other protected attribute;
2. engage in bullying, humiliation or hostile pile-ons;
3. repeatedly contact a person after being asked to stop;
4. encourage others to target or exclude a user abusively; or
5. share another user’s Content to ridicule or embarrass them.

3.3 Constructive comments about food or nutrition must not be presented as medical advice unless the speaker is appropriately qualified and the context clearly identifies the professional capacity in which the advice is given.

4. Harassment and Threats

4.1 Harassment, stalking, threats and intimidation are prohibited.

4.2 You must not:

1. threaten physical, psychological, financial or reputational harm;
2. publish or threaten to publish private information;
3. use invitations, reactions or group removals to harass a person;
4. create Accounts to evade a block or suspension; or
5. encourage self-harm, disordered eating or dangerous dietary restriction.

4.3 Credible threats or immediate safety risks may be referred to appropriate authorities.

5. Eating Disorders and Harmful Conduct

5.1 Do not promote, glorify or instruct users in:

1. starvation or extreme calorie restriction;
2. purging or compensatory behaviour;
3. dangerous fasting;
4. misuse of medication or supplements;
5. eating-disorder concealment techniques; or
6. challenges likely to create a material risk of injury or illness.

5.2 Recovery-oriented discussion may be permitted where it is supportive, non-graphic and does not provide instructions for harmful conduct.

5.3 Nomming may remove Content or intervene where necessary to reduce a credible risk of harm.

6. Illegal and Dangerous Content

6.1 Do not use the Service to create, request, promote or distribute:

1. illegal goods or services;
2. child sexual exploitation material;
3. non-consensual intimate material;
4. instructions for serious criminal conduct;
5. credible threats of violence;
6. malware, credential theft or fraud; or
7. Content otherwise prohibited by law.

6.2 Content involving child exploitation or an imminent threat may be reported to relevant authorities without advance notice where lawful.

7. Sexual and Graphic Content

7.1 Do not upload pornography, sexual services, fetish content or sexually explicit material.

7.2 Do not upload graphic violence, gore or disturbing imagery unrelated to legitimate meal logging.

7.3 Any sexualised depiction of a person under 18 is prohibited.

8. Food Images and Meal Content

8.1 Food images should relate to meals, ingredients, cooking, nutrition or legitimate group activity.

8.2 Do not upload:

1. images containing unnecessary personal documents or financial information;
2. photographs of another person taken or shared without appropriate permission;
3. graphic images of injury, cruelty or slaughter;
4. deliberately deceptive images intended to manipulate a challenge; or
5. unlawful or infringing material.

8.3 Meal photographs may reveal faces, homes, workplaces or location indicators. Review images before sharing them.

8.4 Content showing alcohol or regulated products must comply with applicable law and must not encourage unsafe or underage consumption.

9. Misleading Information

9.1 Do not knowingly publish false or materially misleading information that may cause harm.

9.2 Do not present:

1. AI-generated nutrition estimates as laboratory-tested results;
2. personal opinions as verified medical advice;
3. unproven diets or supplements as cures;
4. edited meal records as independent evidence; or
5. fabricated qualifications or professional endorsements.

9.3 Users may share personal experiences, but should not represent them as universally safe or effective.

10. Spam and Manipulation

10.1 Do not:

1. send repeated or unsolicited invitations;
2. promote unrelated products or services;
3. operate pyramid schemes, scams or deceptive promotions;
4. use bots or scripts to manipulate reactions, challenges or engagement;
5. post repetitive Content that disrupts groups; or
6. harvest user information for marketing.

11. Privacy and Personal Information

11.1 Do not publish another person’s address, contact details, health information, private communications, precise location or identifying documents without lawful authority and permission.

11.2 Do not pressure another user to disclose weight, health conditions, eating habits or other sensitive information.

11.3 Do not record or upload another person’s voice or image where doing so would breach their privacy or applicable law.

12. Copyright and Other Rights

12.1 Only upload Content you own or are permitted to use.

12.2 Do not copy photographs, recipes, branding, text or other protected material in a manner that infringes intellectual property rights.

12.3 Proper attribution does not by itself create permission.

12.4 Rights holders may report suspected infringement to support@nomming.com.au and should provide:

1. identification of the protected work;
2. identification and location of the disputed Content;
3. contact information;
4. the basis of the claim; and
5. confirmation that the report is made honestly.

13. Impersonation and Deception

13.1 Do not impersonate another person, organisation, health professional or Nomming representative.

13.2 Parody or fan Accounts must be clearly identified and must not create a reasonable likelihood of deception.

13.3 Do not falsely claim qualifications, affiliations, endorsements or authority.

14. Account and Feature Abuse

14.1 Do not:

1. access another person’s Account without permission;
2. evade a block, suspension or group restriction;
3. coordinate false reports;
4. exploit technical vulnerabilities;
5. create Accounts primarily for abuse; or
6. use Community Features for surveillance or coercive control.

15. Groups and Challenges

15.1 Group owners and administrators must apply rules fairly and consistently.

15.2 Administrators must not:

1. use challenges to pressure members into unsafe conduct;
2. expose private group Content outside the group without permission;
3. demand health information unrelated to legitimate group participation; or
4. misrepresent themselves as acting for Nomming.

15.3 Nomming may remove an administrator, restrict a group or close a group where necessary to protect users or enforce these Guidelines.

16. Blocking and Reporting

16.1 Users should use available blocking and reporting tools where they experience or observe misconduct.

16.2 Reports should be made honestly and include enough context for review.

16.3 Knowingly false, retaliatory or coordinated reports may themselves breach these Guidelines.

16.4 We may keep the reporter’s identity confidential from the reported user, except where disclosure is required by law.

16.5 For urgent danger, contact local emergency services. Reporting through Nomming is not a substitute for emergency assistance.

17. Moderation

17.1 We may use automated systems, human review and information supplied by users to moderate the Service.

17.2 Moderation action may include:

1. issuing a warning;
2. reducing the visibility of Content;
3. removing Content;
4. disabling invitations, reactions or sharing;
5. removing a user from a group;
6. restricting Account functionality;
7. temporarily suspending an Account; or
8. permanently terminating an Account.

17.3 Enforcement decisions may consider:

1. severity and context;
2. actual or potential harm;
3. whether conduct was intentional;
4. prior violations;
5. age and vulnerability of affected users; and
6. legal or security requirements.

17.4 We are not required to preserve or restore Content removed for safety, legal or security reasons.

18. Immediate Action

18.1 We may act without prior warning where Content or conduct involves:

1. child exploitation;
2. a credible threat of serious harm;
3. serious harassment or privacy abuse;
4. illegal Content;
5. a material security threat;
6. evasion of an existing suspension; or
7. another urgent risk to users or the Service.

19. Appeals

19.1 If you believe moderation action was incorrect, you may submit an appeal through the available in-app process or to support@nomming.com.au.

19.2 An appeal should identify:

1. the affected Account or Content;
2. the decision being challenged; and
3. the reason you believe it should be reconsidered.

19.3 We may uphold, vary or reverse the decision.

19.4 Repeated, abusive or substantially identical appeals may be closed without further review.

19.5 We may withhold details where disclosure would compromise another person’s privacy, safety, security systems or a legal investigation.

20. Changes

20.1 We may update these Guidelines to address new features, risks, legal obligations or community-safety practices.

20.2 Material changes will be notified through an appropriate channel.
